Hooker Adrian Flavin has been named Connacht captain tomorrow night's Magner's Celtic League clash with Llanelli Scarlets at Stradey Park.

The former London Irish player has been handed the job by coach Michael Bradley after captain Andrew Farley was ruled out with a hand injury.

Connacht have not named a vice-captain this season and will be rotating the position among a number of senior players if Farley is unavailable.

"We have plenty of leaders on the field and the captaincy will move around among senior players any time Andrew is not on the pitch," said Bradley.

Flavin, who was on the Irish Under-19 World Cup winning side of 1998, joined Connacht at the start of last season from London Irish. "I'm delighted to be named as captain for the first time, but it's important to see the bigger picture - building on the opening win over the Dragons.

"The Scarlets are very strong at home. It's going to be a very hard game, but we are anxious to keep up the sort of performance we delivered last week."

Munster coach Declan Kidney has named a 27-strong squad ahead of their Celtic League match against Munster at Rodney Parade tomorrow night.

Kidney has gone for extra cover because of knocks picked up by Niall Ronan and Denis Fogarty, but he is expected to reduce his squad to a travelling party of 24. The starting line-up will be announced before midday today.

Meanwhile, the Leinster squad to face the Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park tomorrow night is missing Michael Berne who has a facial injury and is the only change to the panel which beat Edinburgh 23-8 last weekend.

The squad includes Jonathan Sexton, Chris Whitaker and Jamie Heaslip, who all impressed against Edinburgh alongside try-scorers Gary Brown and Luke Fitzgerald in a game which saw Leo Cullen (second spell after re-signing), Shane Jennings (second spell after re-signing), Juan Francisco-Gomez and Stephen Knoop make their first starts for the province.

Cardiff secondrow Rob Sidoli will make his first start for the region this season. The team features six changes to the side that defeated Glasgow last Friday.

Ben Blair comes in at fullback while Tom James starts on the wing. Jason Spice comes in at scrumhalf, Mark Lewis at blindside flanker and Robert Sidoli in the secondrow. John Yapp starts in the frontrow.
