Four players - Tommy Armour, Franklin Langham, Scott Dunlap and Bob Burns - shared a one-stroke lead yesterday after the first round the Doral Ryder Open in Miami.
The quartet topped the leader board on five-under-par 67, one stroke ahead of a group of nine players.
Armour, who lost in a play-off at last week's Tucson Open, is seeking his second PGA Tour victory and first since the 1990 Phoenix Open. Dunlap's best finish was at the 1996 Canadian Open when he tied for third.
Langham's best career performance was a tie for second at last year's Deposit Guaranty Classic while Burns came closest to a PGA Tour victory at the 1994 Buick Classic, where he tied for fourth.
