Toulouse prop Cyrille Van chiri has been suspended for 28 days after his dismissal by Scottish referee Ed Murray in the 1911 defeat at Ebbw Vale yesterday.
Vanchiri was sent off for kicking at the end of the first half and and Inspector Jane Baker, of Gwent Police, said she was investigating the unsavoury scenes.
"I don't propose to take any action - the match officials want the matter laid to rest," she said.
Ebbw Vale have promised their own investigation.
"This is something we are not used to at Ebbw Vale," said club director Ray Harris. "It is totally unbelievable - we will have to discuss what happened with our security people."
Toulouse said they would appeal against the suspension.
Police were called to the Ebbw Vale clubhouse, where it is understood that Toulouse players were involved in a fracas.
