The French Grand Prix was reinstated to the Formula One calendar yesterday by the World Motor Council.

The race was dropped from the 1998 schedule because of problems arising from a dispute over television rights.

But the council decided at a meeting in Paris that, following the adoption by the French Parliament of a law clarifying the rules for TV coverage, it can now be run in Magny-Cours on June 28th.
