Heinz Harald Frentzen donned Jordan's yellow overalls for the first time yesterday before a short first test run in the Jordan Mugen Honda at Suzuka.
Frentzen joined Damon Hill in running the car on Bridgestone tyres for the very first time, the German completing eight laps while Hill did 51 - a full race distance.
"It's too early to say about the car or the tyres," said Frentzen. "What I can say is that I need a better tan to wear these yellow overalls!"
Hill had a better chance to evaluate the Bridgestone tyres: "I don't think it will be too difficult for us to adapt to the new tyres," he said after setting sixth best time of the 12 participants.
Last night Eddie Jordan spoke of the unseen drama of Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix. "The digital TV had Damon's last lap move on camera. I'm glad I didn't see it live or I'd have had a heart attack," he laughed.
