Patricia Magee broke the course record at Kilternan last week. The nine handicapper scorched around the course in a gross one-under-par 69 for 46 stableford points. Her round of one eagle, three birdies, 10 pars and four bogeys beat the old mark by five shots.
And Friday the 13th proved a lucky day for Susan Byrne in Teresa O'Toole's Lady Captain's prize at Arklow. The nine handicapper romped home with a great score of 65 nett (also a course record) to win by three shots from MairΘad McGuinness.
Meanwhile, class one players dominated Margaret Spellman's Lady Captain's prize at Laytown and Bettystown.
The honours on the day went to Noreen Quirke, who had rounds of 34 and 40 points for a total of 74, two better than another senior cup player Carol Wickham with Angie O'Sullivan third on 71. The gross prize went to Alison Taylor with 57 points.
