American Jim Furyk climbed two places to fifth in the world rankings today after his playoff victory at the PGA Tour's Wachovia Championship last night.

Furyk won at the first extra hole in Charlotte, North Carolina after tying with South African Trevor Immelman.
   
Immelman's runner-up finish helped him move up 28 positions to 52nd. Meanwhile, Francesco Molinari climbed 98 places to 103rd after becoming the first home winner of the Italian Open since Massimo Mannelli in 1980.
