Brian Cuthbert was set to go before the Cork County Board last night for ratification as their new senior football manager, to replace Conor Counihan.

Cuthbert formerly played both minor football and hurling for Cork, and managed the Cork minors to the 2010 All-Ireland final - where they narrowly lost to Tyrone. This year, he worked as a Cork selector alongside Counihan, while also managing club side Bishopstown.

The full make up of his backroom team will be announced at a later date.
