Gaelic Games DigestGALWAY: Galway have received a double boost ahead of Sunday week's Connacht final showdown against Mayo. Wing back Michael Comer, who retired with a shoulder injury in the semi-final win over Leitrim, is back in training. And under-21 centre-back Niall Coyne, who impressed when introduced in the 1-11 to 1-8 win over Leitrim, is also expected to be in contention for a place.
Galway's defence looked suspect against Leitrim and manager Peter Ford faces some selection headaches ahead of the final at Pearse Stadium. Ford said: "We will wait until next week before sitting down and selecting a team for the final."
DERRY: Derry captain Paddy Bradley will turn his attention to rugby when his team's involvement in the All-Ireland championship ends. The Glenullin club man will link up with Limavady Rugby Club and has been earmarked to fill the fullback position. Bradley will be to the fore in Sunday's All-Ireland qualifier against Down when he will bid to add to the 1-10 he scored against Monaghan, and 1-5 against Armagh.
UNDER-16 HURLING: Glen Rovers of Cork, winners of the 2004 All-Ireland Under-16 A hurling tournament, will defend their title at Carlow on Saturday.
