Galway had the upper-hand on Tipperary in their All-Ireland Vocational Schools senior inter-county hurling quarter-final at Loughrea on Saturday.
The victors had put themselves well on the way by earning a 1-8 to 1-1 half-time lead. Galway's goal in this half was from Niall Healy, while Tipperary's goal came through Francis Devaney. Galway's second goal was scored by John Brady.
