Camogie: Galway made full use of the strong wind in the first half at Duggan Park, Ballinasloe, yesterday as they beat Wexford by 2-11 to 1-5 to go top of Division One B.

Orla Kilkenny's goal after two minutes got the winners off to a great start. Wexford battled hard and with four minutes of the half remaining, their 2004 All Star Áine Codd converted a fine penalty, which left them trailing 1-2 to Galway's 1-7 at the break.

The wind did not do Wexford much good after the break as they could add only three points. Brenda Hanney's goal was the icing on the cake for the winners.

In Division Two, Galway made it a double whammy when they beat Wexford 1-7 to 0-6 in the curtain-raiser. Waterford's Áine Lyng knocked in four first-half goals in a 6-7 to 2-7 win over Roscommon in Waterford.
