Galway 4-20 Wexford 2-11:GALWAY'S DOMINANCE was pronounced from the opening minutes as they went on to record the most comfortable of victories over a disappointing Wexford outfit in this All-Ireland minor hurling championship quarter-final at O'Connor Park, Tullamore, on Saturday afternoon.
The game was gone from Wexford by the 11th minute as Galway led 2-5 to 0-2 by that stage, the goals from Michael Mullins and Darragh Dolan. This dominance continued right through the opening half, with all six forwards scoring by the 14th minute. It was no surprise when they went in 2-15 to 0-5 ahead at the interval.
Wexford gave brief hope of a recovery with a Seán Kenny goal one minute after the restart but Galway killed off any hopes of a Wexford comeback when Adrian Morrissey found the net minutes later. From there to the finish it was all Galway with Jason Flynn notching a fourth goal with Donal Shanley getting one back for Wexford.
