Monaleen 0-13 St Kieran's 2-5: Monaleen were almost caught napping in a disappointing Limerick senior football final played before a crowd of 3,200 at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.
With five minutes left they led by 12 points to five but there came instant change when substitute Michael Greaney and county goalkeeper Séamus O'Donnell rattled the net and Monaleen had to rely on a 53rd-minute save by Paddy O'Halloran.
The winners were fortunate county star Muiris Gavin entered the action after half-time. Gavin's four points inside an eight-minute period made it 0-11 to 0-3. Soon afterwards he was substituted and Monaleen lost their shape.
