SAILING:In his best result so far, Finn class sailor Timothy Goodbody secured a race win at the Palma Olympic Classes Regatta yesterday afternoon as the event passed its halfway stage, reports David Branigan.

With just today's racing remaining, a top-10 result is unlikely for the Dún Laoghaire single-hander who holds 23rd overall in the 55-strong fleet.

Maintaining their 10th overall will be essential for Maurice "Prof" O'Connell and Ben Cooke in the Star keelboat if they are to compete in tomorrow's medal race finale. More than 1,000 boats and around 1,500 sailors are competing in this annual event.
