Graham Bradley was back in business and thrilled a big crowd with a triumphant return to race riding at Stratford last night. Bradley had not ridden in public since April 16th, the day before his licence was suspended by the Jockey Club, and having had it returned on Monday, he jumped at the chance to take part in a celebrity Flat race.
It was run over a mile and confined to horses from the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery. He was drawn to ride Brummel and it was his jockeyship which won the day as he really rousted the seven-year-old from the two furlong marker to collar Highgate in the last strides. As he returned to the winner's enclosure to great applause from the crowd, he waved his whip high in the air and shouted: "I have still got it!" The race was not run under Jockey Club Rules and Bradley did not have to weigh in.
