LEINSTER COLLEGES 'A' SHC CHAMPIONSHIP: Dublin South 2-15 Westmeath Colleges 0-11:GOALS IN either half from corner-forwards Chris Kavanagh and Naoise Greene were instrumental in giving Dublin South their second Leinster Colleges victory of the campaign in an entertaining clash played at Clontarf yesterday.

Westmeath had recovered from a relatively lacklustre start to register scores from Kieran Glennon, Michael Murray and Joey Boyle, but Kavanagh’s goal on 20 minutes was followed by points from Ken Kelly (2) and Greene to give Dublin South a 1-9 to 0-4 mid-way lead.

The second period would continue in much the same vein, before Greene put the game beyond Westmeath’s reach on 48 minutes with an excellent individual goal.

Glennon’s impressive accuracy from frees did put some respectability on the scoreboard, but Dublin South were always on top as two late points from Kavanagh concluded a good day’s work for the Sky Blues.
