Japan and Jamaica hope to salvage a little pride and a point from their encounter today before bidding farewell to their first World Cup. There is little at stake but self-esteem after the debutants both suffered predictable defeats at the hands of group favourites Argentina and Croatia.
Japan, who are still seeking that elusive first goal after two 1-0 defeats, are set to make at least one change from the team which played Croatia because of the suspension of Eisuke Nakanishi who was booked in the first two games.
Centre-back Norio Omura could be in line to join his Yokohama Marinos club colleague and Japan's captain Masami Ihara at the heart of the defence in place of Nakanishi.
Jamaica are expected to move Christopher Dawes from defence into midfield to replace the suspended Darryl Powell who was sent off for his second yellow card offence against Argentina. Onandi Low is likely to be recalled after missing the Argentina game and should take Dawes's role as sweeper.
