FOR THE SECOND year running, Cork Harlequins and UCC will meet in a play-off to decide the Munster Division One title after Harlequins’ 2-2 draw with Catholic Institute on Saturday left them level on points with the students at the top of the table.
The date for the play-off has still to be set but if Harlequins can repeat last season’s victory over UCC they will win their 15th successive Munster title.
Saturday’s draw clinched third in the table for Institute, ahead of Church of Ireland, a placing that puts them through to a play-off next month against Old Alexandra, the winners qualifying for next season’s Irish Hockey League.
Belvedere, meanwhile, comfortably sealed their spot in the Munster First Division by beating the University of Limerick 7-1 in their promotion-relegation play-off.
