Harps help Cork to fourth place

Cork City moved into fourth spot in the Premier Division when they came from behind to win at Finn Park last night

Cork City moved into fourth spot in the Premier Division when they came from behind to win at Finn Park last night. The winning goal came midway through the second half when Harps defender Stuart Gauld headed Kelvin Flanagan's corner into his own net.

Earlier, another Flanagan corner produced Cork's equaliser. Johnny Glynn, seconds on the pitch after replacing Noel Hartigan, headed home at the near post.

It was another disappointing performance from Harps, who have now gone nine league games without a win. They had started so well, breaking the deadlock with only two minutes gone. Jonathan Speak created the opening on the left and his cross was slammed home by Davey Dowling.

Cork controlled the game for long periods in the first half and kept up the pressure in the second half, when they were rewarded with their two set-piece strikes. Cork manager Dave Barry said: "It was a great result for us given that we had lost our last two games against Sligo and UCD".
