Tyrone 2-13 Antrim 1-10:Tyrone eased to a comfortable victory at a rain-sodden Casement Park yesterday.
Two first-half goals by Peter Harte made the difference, with the first one, in the sixth minute, a rather bizarre score.
Harte profited from a goalmouth scramble to knock the ball over the line to put the visitors 1-1 to 0-0 ahead after 30 seconds of ping-pong football.
Antrim quickly responded with a goal from a penalty by Kevin Niblock to level the scores at 1-1 apiece, after midfielder Sean McVeigh had pointed for the home side.
The teams were level again at 1-3 each on 22 minutes, but a flurry of points from Edendork new boy Darren McCurry and Plunkett Kane and Harte’s second goal put Tyrone 2-6 to 1-4 in front at the break.
Antrim didn’t score from the 37th until the 55th minute as Tyrone eased 2-10 to 1-5 ahead before comfortably going on to secure their place in the semi-finals.
