Australian wicket-keeper Ian Healy set a new world record for most dismissals when he caught Wasim Akram on the fourth day of the first Test match in Rawalpindi, Pakistan yesterday. The Aussies were in sight of an innings win when Healy took a difficult edge from Wasim on a delivery from off-spinner Collin Miller.

The Aussie keeper jumped with joy and his team-mates congratulated him on setting a new record.

Healy overhauled countryman Rodney Marsh's record of 355 victims behind the stumps in his 104th Test. Marsh completed his tally in 96 Tests.

Australian batsman Allan Border holds the records of most runs in Test cricket with 11,174 in 156 Tests while Indian pacer Kapil Dev is the record holder of most wickets with 434 in 131 Tests.

Ian Andrew Healy, 34, made his Test debut against Pakistan at Karachi in the 1988-89 series and took just one catch in his first Test, claiming Ramiz Raja.

"Creating a world record is something I will always cherish but my team's win has always been above everything for me," Healy remarked.
