Scottish Premier League Round-up: Hearts, reduced to 10 men after just 25 minutes, lost their first points of the season in the Scottish Premier League with a 2-2 draw at Falkirk yesterday.

Scotland defender Steven Pressley scored three goals, his first an own goal before he helped his team come back from two down in the final 18 minutes.

Hearts' lead at the top of the standings was cut to three points. They have 25 points from nine games to 22 for Celtic, who won 5-0 at Livingston on Saturday.

Rangers also scored five in a 5-1 win over Dunfermline on Saturday to remain third on 16 points, equal with Hibernian who lost 2-1 at home to 10-man Inverness Caledonian Thistle yesterday. Falkirk climbed one place to 10th on six points.

Hearts suffered a double blow after 25 minutes when Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon was sent off for bringing down Falkirk's Darryl Duffy for a penalty.

Substitute goalkeeper Steven Banks replaced Michal Pospisil before Duffy slotted the spot kick into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Falkirk went 2-0 up with an own goal from Pressley after 68 minutes. He was short with a headed pass back, Duffy charged in to fire from 15 metres, Banks parried and the rebound thudded off the back-tracking Pressley and ran agonisingly into the net.

Pressley made up for the blunder by touching home a Rudi Skacel free-kick at the back post four minutes later and he bundled home a header in stoppage time after goalkeeper Matt Glennon parried Skacel's shot.

Stephen McManus, Shaun Maloney, Maciej Zurawski, Chris Sutton and Craig Beattie all found the net in Celtic's five-goal romp at Almondvale.

The victory means Gordon Strachan's side have won their last six matches since being beaten at Ibrox in the first Old Firm match of the campaign.

The result was all the more impressive as John Hartson was demoted to the bench to accommodate the return of Polish striker Zurawski.
