Steve Davis trounced arch rival Stephen Hendry to earn a place in the semi-finals of the £40,000 Catch China International Super Challenge in Beijing yesterday.
The six-times world champion, who celebrated his 40th birthday last month, whitewashed Hendry 5-0 to set up a meeting with Thailand's James Wattana, architect of a 147 maximum break during his 5-4 win over Pang Wei Guo.
On a good day for the games veterans Jimmy White also advanced with a 5-3 win over world number four Mark Williams after a low quality contest in which his highest break was a modest 38. White progresses to face Ronnie O'Sullivan, a 5-2 winner over Guo Hua.
