Most people would enjoy being mistaken for a celebrity but this column found that it's not always the case. While conducting an interview with Leinster number eight Victor Costello during the week, the questions and answers were interrupted by Ireland and Leinster wing Denis Hickie who sat down in close proximity.

On looking up he realised what was taking place and by way of apology exclaimed: "Oh sorry, I thought it was Reggie (Corrigan) with you Victor."

Now this column is a few pounds over his fighting weight but to be mistaken for Leinster's captain and loosehead prop Reggie Corrigan is taking a liberty.

Hickie, this column can exclusively reveal, wears glasses on occasion: obviously this wasn't one of them. There is no truth in the rumour that Corrigan (looking slim and trim) is threatening to sue Ireland's top wing for slander.
