It's proving to be quite a year for The High School in the Leinster Schools' finals. Last week they reached the final of the Senior A Cup, where they lost to Loreto Bray, and yesterday they went one better when they secured their first Minor A cup since 1989 when they beat Mount Anville 2-0 at Grange Road.
Centre forward Roz Campbell was the game's outstanding player, giving High School the lead 10 minutes into the second half, with left back Sophie O'Hare also turning in a superb performance.
While High School, coached by Gillian Mellon, had the better of most of the game Mount Anville - largely through the work of Julie Donoghue, Andrea Ryan and Derbhla McGuinness - remained in contention until 15 minutes from time when Lyndsey Watson scored High School's second goal to seal their victory.
