England's David Howell claimed his first professional victory yesterday with a dazzling, seven-stroke win in the Australian PGA Championship at Sydney's New South Wales course.
Howell grabbed the lead on Thursday and never relinquished it. He extended his overnight margin of six strokes with a closing round of four-under-par 68 to finish with a 13-under-par total of 275.
The 23-year-old from Swindon was five shots clear of Trinidad's Stephen Ames and Australian Terry Price, who tied for second place with closing scores of 68 and 69 respectively.
