Former Ireland outhalf David Humphreys faces a race to be fit for Ulster's first Magners Celtic League game at home to the Ospreys on September 21st after suffering ankle ligament damage.

The outhalf sustained the injury in training yesterday after turning on his ankle and awaits the results of a scan to assess the extent of the injury.

Humphreys is likely to miss the friendly matches against Leeds on August 31st and Gloucester on September 8th.

Connacht are set to welcome Castres Olympique to the Sportsground on Tuesday (kick-off 7pm) in the first match of a double header against the French Super 14 outfit, before they conclude the series on Saturday, September 1st (kick-off 4pm).
