Damson hardened as favourite for the 1,000 Guineas on Saturday without having to take a step as her Tipperary stablemate Indesatchel took the Lane's End Greenham Stakes at Newbury.
Jamie Spencer brought the 11 to 10 favourite through with a strong run from the rear a furlong out to hold Johnny Jumpup by a length and land the Group Three prize.
But with Indesatchel's stamina for a mile believed to be in doubt, the winner will not be heading to Newmarket for the first Classic of the season in a fortnight.
So bookmakers left with nothing to do to the 2,000 Guineas market instead chose to clip the price of Damson, with whom Indesatchel is reported to have been doing his recent prep work.
Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, totesport and William Hill all go 3 to 1 from 7 to 2 and only Coral held firm at 4 to 1.
Royal Ascot's Jersey Stakes is the next likely target for Indesatchel, who pleased Spencer with this performance.
"David (Wachman) has really got him to improve over the winter. Last year he was a nearly horse, but he is there now and he is very good at this trip," the jockey said.
