CRICKET/England v India:Missed chances by India kept alive England's hopes of victory in the One Day Series encounter under the Bristol floodlights.
Kevin Pietersen was dropped twice and Ian Bell also lost a life as England progressed to 193 for 32.2 overs.
Pietersen was put down twice in three balls while on 11 in Sourav Ganguly's first over, firstly by wicketkeeper Mahendra Dhoni, standing up to the stumps, and then from a return chance to the bowler's left.
That followed Bell, on one, being spilled at third man by Ramesh Powar, from an upper cut at Rudra Pratap Singh.
Despite chasing a mammoth 330 to go 2-0 up in the seven-match series, England made a rollicking start, helped by Ganguly dropping Matt Prior from an edge to slip off Ajit Agarkar in the fifth over.
Fast bowler Munaf Patel made a dramatic return to international cricket to end a 76-run opening stand by removing both Prior and Alastair Cook in consecutive deliveries.
Dravid had earlier propelled India to their massive total with an unbeaten 92 off 63 balls, including 11 fours and a six.
