Wales out-half Arwel Thomas and England captain Lawrence Dallaglio yesterday dispelled fears they may be forced out of Saturday's Five Nations clash at Twickenham by injury.

Thomas is nursing a knee injury sustained playing for Swansea against Llanelli at the weekend but is adamant it will not keep him out of the match. "It is an impact injury; there is no structural damage, and it is just a question of time for the swelling to go down," he said.

"I will have treatment three times a day - ice, compression and ultrasound - over the next few days and then train with the team on Thursday. I am 100 per cent certain I will be fine, but if I can't train on Thursday then that will be the time for a change in the team," he said.

Dallaglio, still seeking his first win after five Tests in charge, popped rib cartilages during England's defeat in Paris 10 days ago and withdrew from Wasps' League match at Bath at the weekend.

But he insisted: "My ribs are improving daily and if the improvement continues I will take a full part in England's training towards the end of the week and play against Wales."
