A 2-2 DRAW with Scotland in the final match was enough to give Ireland victory in the finals of the Rover Four Nations Cup in Spain over the weekend. Ireland won all four matches in their opening game against England and followed up with a 3-1 win over Wales at the San Rogue Golf Club.

Ireland finished on 18 points, with England five points back in second place. Scotland, with nine points, finished third place and Wales, with eight points, in fourth. The four teams involved were selected from over 80,000 golfers in Britain and Ireland who took park in the preliminary rounds.

The Irish team was: Gillian Crawford (Oughterard), Dan Cleary (Westmanstown), Niall O'Donnell (Cill Dara), Karen Hetherington (Dungannon), Annette Megarry (Lisburn), Alison Oliver (Mahee Island), Frank O'Boyle (Ballymena) and Philip Logan (Massereene).
