Ireland will meet Scotland in two under-21 hockey internationals at Blaris this weekend as part of the final preparations for the European junior championship (B division) in Padua from August 24th30th. The 16-man Irish squad will be selected from a panel of 19, including several players who were unavailable for the recent Celtic Cup tournament. There will be further warm-up matches against Belgium in Dublin on August 15th and 16th.
Ireland under-21 women's hockey coach Adele Sloan has predictably kept faith with the players who performed so admirably in Hanover at the weekend in naming her squad for next month's European junior championship in Belfast.
