Ireland's Maureen Madill and Aideen Rogers will have to join Tracey Eakin at the European Women's Tour qualifying school in Portugal next December, following their disappointing finishes in the Air France Open in Deauville yesterday.

Madill had a final round of 78 to finish on 229 with Rogers on 233 following a 78. Madill had needed a top-80 place on the final merit table to avoid having to travel to Portugal but finished 82nd.

Britain's Alison Nicholas produced a stunning late hat-trick of birdies to add the European number one title to her US Open victory when she finished second behind Australian Loraine Lambert. Lambert shot a closing 69 to finish at level par on 213 for her maiden Tour victory, two strokes clear of Nicholas.

Marie-Laure de Lorenzi from France, playing captain of the European Women's Tour side to face the Men's Seniors Tour has named her side for the inaugural Praia D'El Rey European Cup match to be played in Portugal on November 14-16th.
