Cricket: Irish umpire Trevor Henry has been appointed to the first umpires' panel for officials from ICC Associate and Affiliate member countries.
Following a review of his performances at the ICC World Cup qualifying series Division Two tournament in Malaysia earlier this year, Henry has been named as one of 10 top umpires on the panel.
A former soccer player for Glenavon in the Irish League, Henry played cricket in the junior ranks of the NCU before concentrating on umpiring.
Other umpires on the list represent such countries as Bermuda, Denmark, Fiji, Germany, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Scotland and Singapore.
"It is important that we target officials as well as players as part of the ICC Development Program as they are a vital part of the game," said Matthew Kennedy, the ICC's global development manager.
Members of the new panel will be appointed to ICC Intercontinental Cup matches and other Associate and Affiliate tournaments. They may also be considered for other prestigious ICC events.
