It was observed that over 80 tons of sand was put on the virtually dead Cardiff Arms pitch last weekend before the European Cup match between Cardiff and Montferrand. Correction. There were 80 tons and one bucket. Before the match Neil Jenkins went out to the only green part of the surface, poured a bucket of sand over it and proceeded to practice his placekicking. After three conversions and three penalties in the match Jenkins left a happy camper.
