In the main race of all, the Gold Cup, I would love to see Dorans Pride come out on top. He is so consistent he must be some beauty to be involved with. To use the cliche he looks the one to beat but I think See More Business could be the horse to do it. For an each-way bet, Strong Promise looks a good option.

Going through the other main races, I'm going for His Song in the Supreme Novices and Istabraq is the obvious one in the Champion Hurdle. I thought Graphic Equaliser was quite impressive in the Ladbroke and could be an each-way bet, but Istabraq is a great galloper and I'll be on him.

One horse I was very impressed with when he won was Foxchapel King and on that form he must have a very good chance in the Sun Alliance Hurdle. I think the only question mark against Florida Pearl in the Sun Alliance Chase is his stamina, but he is an impeccable jumper with a great presence about him. I hope he wins because of the Cork connection with Archie O'Leary.

Another Cork connection is Norman Williamson, a wonderful jockey who gets the absolute most out of his horses. He rides Iron County Xmas for Dermot Weld in the Triumph Hurdle and taking everything into consideration, I'll be having a couple of pounds on him.
