Sports Digest/Formula One: Eddie Jordan has said he would welcome Russian-born billionaire Alex Shnaider buying into his Formula One team, even if a deal is not yet done.
"Nothing has been done at this stage but I have met Alex a couple of times and I like him," said Jordan yesterday.
"I believe he would gain something from an involvement with Jordan and he is certainly someone who would be able to help the team become more competitive."
RUGBY: Jason Robinson has been confirmed as England captain for next month's Six Nations Championship opener against Wales in Cardiff on February 5th.
The full back captained England during the three-Test autumn programme while Jonny Wilkinson was sidelined with a bicep injury. Wilkinson is now nursing a knee ligament problem.

SWIMMING: Swim Ireland's best teenage competitors have their sights on the European Junior championships in Budapest this summer, and for 12 of the 13 swimmers involved, this weekend will be crucial at the high profile Euro invitational meet in Luxembourg.
So far, Laura McDonnell of the Cormorant club is the only member of this elite group to have made the qualifying mark for Budapest.
Meanwhile, Ireland's David Molloy, Alan Turner, Eoin Nolan and John Kealy, due to return home today, distinguished themselves at the Deaf Olympic Games in Melbourne.
Kealy set a new world record (27.0 seconds) in the 50 metres backstroke final. He lifted five individual medals as well as playing a prominent role with his medal-winning team-mates in three relays.
