Sligo Rovers gave their flagging promotion ambitions some much needed impetus as a goal by John Jordan gave them a 1-0 win over Limerick at the Showgrounds yesterday.
Jordan struck five minutes into the second half, shooting home Ian Rossiter's cross. Limerick played over half the game with 10 men after John Whyte had been sent off for a second bookable offence on 41 minutes.
Yesterday's other scheduled First Division game between Drogheda United and Home Farm/Fingal was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
