Robert Kearney was the hat-trick hero as Clongowes overcame Kilkenny College in the Leinster Schools' Junior Cup to earn a semi-final place, against Belvedere, in Athy yesterday.
Kearney opened the scoring with his first try after 10 minutes. He converted his second after 20 minutes and Louis Ronan went over six minutes later. With the score 17-0 at half-time, Kearney landed his third two minutes after the restart. Ronan got his second on 44 minutes.
