Kilkenny CBS 1-12 Good Counsel 1-9
A GOAL from super sub Kevin Kenny helped Kilkenny CBS on their way to victory at Palmerstown. Kenny’s goal, 13 minutes from time, saw the CBS put some daylight (1-10 to 1-5) between themselves and the Wexford school.
Opening with the breeze, Good Counsel roared into the lead when Mark Mansfield goaled in the second minute. With full forward Jack Guiney excelling, they went in 1-4 to 0-3 in front at the break.
A quick hat-trick of points within minutes of the restart from Danny Lenihan brought the CBS right back into the game. before Kenny’s goal wrapped up the win.
