The Republic of Ireland Youth team manager Brian Kerr has named a squad of 20 locally based players for next Tuesday night's friendly match against Northern Ireland in Newry.
The match will give those players a chance to impress as Kerr weighs up his options ahead of the forthcoming European play-off matches against France.
The French stand between the Republic's youths, who won their qualifying group in Dublin in the autumn, and a place at a fourth consecutive European Championship finals. The games have been scheduled for April 5th (away) and April 19th (home) with the venues yet to be finalised.
The National League, meanwhile, have fixed dates for two games that had to be postponed in recent weeks. The Premier Division match between Shamrock Rovers and UCD will now take place next Sunday week at Morton Stadium at 2.0 with the First Division meeting of Monaghan United and St Francis set for Sunday February 6th.
