The black and amber camogie and hurling teams were all victorious against Dublin at the weekend with the Division One side edging out Dublin 1-11 to 1-8 in Clara.

This was a game that went to the wire as both sides desperately battled for victory with Dublin seeking their first League points, while Kilkenny needed a win to maintain their interest in the 2005 campaign.

Kilkenny made the better start with an Aoife Neary goal after just five minutes and went on to lead 1-4 to 0-4 at the break.

The second half saw both defences work hard and with time ticking away, Dublin found the Kilkenny net with a Louise O'Hara goal. However, striving for at least a draw, Dublin's efforts went wide of the posts and so their interest in the 2005 competition slipped away, while Kilkenny will anxiously await the outcome of the Cork-Tipperary game on April 17th.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny gave the Dublin division two side a real lesson when they dished out a 4-14 to 2-6 hammering in the opening game at the same venue.

Armagh had an easy 4-17 to 3-2 victory over Carlow thanks to Colette McSorley (1-7), together with a goal each from Trish McAvoy, Bernie Murray and Mary Black.

The three Carlow goals came from Olivia Maye, Fiona Byrne and Karen Byrne.

Elsewhere, the reigning National League champions Kildare kept a grip on the trophy when they overcame Limerick 4-8 to 2-2 in Newbridge.
