Leitrim SFC Final/ Kiltubrid 4-11 Bornacoola 0-7: The rural parish of Kiltubrid in the heart of Leitrim's Lakeland created history on the double when they captured their first senior football title on their debut in a one-sided final at sun-soaked Páirc Seán Mhic Diarmada before a record attendance of 3,000.
Bornacoola, who last won a senior title in 1957, were never a threat to a side who book-ended an impressive display of running football with goals at either end of the match. Lady Luck deserted the Bors, who failed to score until the 24th minute, hit seven wides in a first half they dominated, missed a penalty and were reduced to 14 men with the dismissal of Trevor Howard.
SCORERS - Kiltubrid: J Gill (2-2), D McKiernan (2-1), C Doherty (0-2), F Meehan, S Foley, C Carroll, M Early, G Foley, N Foley (0-1 each). Bornacoola: M McCloskey (0-2, a free), J Duffy (0-2), J Conroy, P Howard, T Howard (0-1 each).
