All-Ireland MFC Quarter-finals/Kerry 2-9 Tyrone 1-8:Two first-half goals proved decisive as Kerry registered a deserved victory over Tyrone in their All-Ireland minor football championship quarter-final at O'Connor Park, Tullamore, yesterday.
Full forward Barry John Walsh set up wing forward JB Spillane for a Kerry goal after just one minute and Colm O'Shea's 23rd-minute goal edged them 2-2 to 0-6 in front. Paul McAleer's goal before the interval put Tyrone 1-6 to 2-2 ahead at the interval.
Kerry opened the second half with two quick points from Walsh and Wayne Gutherie and further scores from Timothy O'Sullivan, Johnny Buckley and Walsh helped them tp establish a winning platform.
