Equestrian: There was no joy for Jessica Kurten in yesterday's feature Grand Prix at the French fixture in Lyon, but 18-year-old Frank Curran kept the Irish to the fore when scoring in a junior speed class with Nallinimo over in Liege, Belgium, on Saturday, writes Grania Willis.

Kurten, third in the latest world rider rankings, slotted Castle Forbes Cadeau Z into second place in Saturday's young horse competition, but finished 13th yesterday with a fence down against the clock.

Saturday's big winners at the Kill International show were Ger O'Neill, who took the Puissance when clearing 1.80 metres with Carrick Clover, and Ryan Crumley, who scooped the Gain Feeds mini-Grand Prix with Franklin's Aqua.

The Equestrian Federation of Ireland has restored full international status to this week's Cavan Horse Show. Status was withdrawn 10 days ago when the organisers refused to rescind a ban on riders Cian O'Connor and Clement MacMahon.
