Ruud Gullit. Netherlands (Chelsea: May 1996 - present) Appointed after Glenn Hoddle took the England job. Has invested heavily in foreign players. In initial season, became first overseas manager to win FA Cup.
Dr Jozef Venglos. Czechoslovakia (Aston Villa: July 1990 - May 1991) First foreigner to manage a top-flight club, Venglos took over when Graham Taylor accepted England job offer. Lasted 10 months, narrowly avoiding relegation.
Jan Sorensen. Denmark (Walsall: June 1997 - present) Former Bruges, Ajax and Feyenoord midfielder was out of the game for eight years, working as a time-share salesman. The team are third from bottom in second division.
Jan Molby. Denmark (Swansea: February 1996 - October 1997) Three months after he arrived, Swansea were relegated to the third division. Reached the play-off final last May but lost 1-0 to Northampton. Sacked with Swansea fifth from bottom.
Ossie Ardiles. Argentina. (Swindon: July 1989 - March 1991), (Newcastle: March 1991 - February 1992), (West Bromwich: May 1992 - July 1993), (Tottenham Hotspur: July 1993 - November 1994) Spurs sacked him after 16 months but won promotion for Swindon although irregularities kept them down. Bombed at Newcastle but promoted with West Bromwich.
Danny Bergara. Uruguay. (Stockport: March 1989 - April 1995), (Doncaster: November 1997 - present). Assistant at Bramall Lane in the late 1970s before taking charge at Edgeley Park. Took them within a playoff of first division. Sacked following a fracas with chairman; police were called to break it up.
