A very fit and sharp Laois side came from behind to win the Barney Hennessy senior football tournament at Graiguecullen last evening. Damien Delaney, who scored 1-7 for Laois, impressed as did Kevin O'Brien, who returned to the Wicklow side.
Wicklow led 1-8 to 0-9 at halftime after playing into the wind. Their goal had come in the seventh minute from a penalty by Trevor Doyle. The sides were level 1-8 to 0-11 by the 37th minute, before Delaney finished off a move with a fine goal to put Laois in front for the first time. Danny Doogue added a second in the 53rd minute.
