The Laois player was suspended for four weeks by the GAC yesterday from an incident that led to his sending-off in the Leinster final against Kildare. It is the one blemish on a flawless championship season for Laois.

Dublin goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton received a similar term for his straight dismissal against Armagh in the All-Ireland qualifiers on July 5th. The All Star goalkeeper was carded for an off-the-ball challenge on Armagh forward Steven McDonnell.

Dan Gordon, Down's full forward, also got confirmation of his one-month suspension. He was sent off in the Ulster final against Tyrone and missed what turned out to be Down's final championship game last Saturday.
