Peter Lawrie will take a one-shot lead into the second half of the Links Golfing Society season which resumes at Royal Dublin Golf Club on Thursday with the Waterford Crystal-sponsored outing. Lawrie leads the overall professional gross for 36 holes by one shot from the president of the Links Des Smyth with three outings remaining. Jim Carvill is a shot further back followed by Eamonn Brady and Tony Judd.
Jody Fanagan (Milltown) leads the amateur gross for 36 holes. Fanagan is on level par, one ahead of Co Louth's Barry Reddan and three ahead of Noel Fox. Reddan is tied for the lead in the nett with Peter O'Hagan with Royal Dublin's John Hutchinson in close attention. The team event for the best 54 holes is as usual a wide open race and after three rounds the lead is held by Pat Smyth (Killiney) on 23 under par, with Alan Walton (The Island) and John Hutchinson on 21 under.
