Having confirmed the appointment of long-time Bohemians official Donal Crowther as secretary of the league on Monday night, National League president Michael Hyland said yesterday that he expects a new marketing manager to be place by the start of October.
Crowther will have responsibility for the smooth running of the league's competitions and the enforcement of its rules, a role which club representatives will be hoping will reduce the number of damaging disputes that have arisen over recent seasons.
Meanwhile, tonight's League Cup match between Derry City and Finn Harps has been postponed as a mark of respect to the victims of the Omagh bombing. Manchester United are expected to make a third attempt to sign Dwight Yorke before tomorrow's Champions League signing deadline.
United have failed with bids of £8 million and £10 million but Aston Villa insist on £16 million.
